The GSG Furniture Drive provides an opportunity for members of the Princeton community to help local charities by purchasing gently-used furniture and other household items donated by undergraduates. This annual event is organized by the GSG but relies on volunteers. Volunteers receive $10 in merchandise credit per hour.
All proceeds of this event are given to charity. In the past, the drive has raised money for local outreach programs, including Home Front, Tender Hearts, Upper East Trenton Outreach, and Rescue Mission of Trenton. In 2012, we raised $3460 for Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Mercer County and the Rescue Mission of Trenton. In 2009 we took in $3,103.80. We raised $1,689 in 2008, $3,588 in 2007, and $2,010 in 2006.
NOTE: Unfortunately, the GSG cannot assist in the transportation of purchased items at the Drive.
The 2013 GSG Charity Drive raised over $4000 for Big Brothers Big Sisters and the Rescue Mission of Trenton. Thank you to our volunteers, students who donated items, and those who purchased items at the drive!
