Graduate HousingAnnouncementsThe GSG was recently given an update regarding Princeton's long term graduate housing plans. Long-term housing plansThe current economic situation has caused changes to Princeton's capital improvement program. Specifically, the University hopes to continue with the housing plan with no capital investment. The majority of the housing plan remains unchanged and on-schedule, with the University maintaining its commitment to house 70% of graduate students (down from 78% housed currently). For more details, see the GSG memo from April 8, 2009. Housing drawResults for the 2009 draw will be posted on the Housing draw website around April 17, 2009. The GC House Committee maintains information about the rooms in the Graduate College, which may be helpful for students in the room selection process. See the GCHC Room Draw Guide. Off-campus housingFor students who are unsuccessful in the on-campus housing draw, the University has created a website to assist students in finding off-campus housing. The site also contains other resources with links to other sites related to housing (avaible under the "Other Resources" menu item). Also see Tiger Trade, where many students post sublet information.
Graduate Housing Policy CommitteeThe GSG and each of the residential policy committees meet regularly with the Housing Office and the Graduate School to discuss housing policies and procedures including the draw. Any students that want to join should email the GSG to join the GSG Housing Committee.
MiscellaneousInsuranceAs of the 2009-2010 academic year, the University requires all apartment residents in graduate housing to obtain renter's insurance. For more information about this requirement, and for a list of insurance companies and price estimates, see the GSG Renter's Insurance page.
