Information for Students Welcome graduate students! This page is a resource for information about academics and student life. If you have any questions, please ask your GSG representative, your department's Graduate Student Committee, or contact the GSG directly. GSG ResourcesAcademic Affairs
The Academic Affairs Committee is the arm of the GSG responsible for advocacy on a range of projects and policies, including advocacy for stipends, DCE funding, travel grants, and research funds; projects facilitating interdisciplinary communication; policies regarding libraries and other campus study spaces, among others. The following links may provide useful guidance to GSG and Unviersity resources on these topics:
Campus Relations
Facilities
The GSG Facilities Committee focuses on non-academic services provided by the University. These include graduate housing, parking and transportation, dining services, computing/OIT, University buildings, grounds and facilities, and campus sustainability. We have large and small projects where we need graduate student volunteers in each of these areas, and have the following specialized sub-committees: GSG Housing Committee, GSG Parking & Transportation Committee. We also work closely with the residentail policy committees (see below) on specific issues, as well as Greening Princeton for sustainability.
Health & Life
The GSG hosts a wide variety of social events each year, including the Welcome BBQ in early September, the Wine and Cheese Social in late September, the Winter Social in mid-February, the Summer BBQ/Frolic at Frist during the summer, and a number of GSG and APGA Alumni Mixers throughout the year. In addition to these annual events, the GSG Social Chair organizes a number of other socials, mixers, and forums to promote social life on campus, which have included everything from the Outdoor Action 360 Open House to the wildly successful Princeton Travel Festival and GSG Photo Contest.
In addition to events planned by the GSG Social Chair, the GSG also funds a number of events organized by student groups through the Events Board. Useful links and websitesAcademic Affairs
